QTL at Sutton House
Time & Location
About The Event
The National Trust’s Prejudice and Pride programme, marks the 50th anniversary of the partial decriminalisation of homosexuality. As part of this program Sutton House Queered aims to question and disrupt, challenge and celebrate all that is queer... and QTL are here to celebrate!
So join us at Sutton House, a stunning Tudor house in east London, for an exceptional, celebratory evening of queer tango.
5.15pm to 6.15pm - Workshop 1 ‘Following for leaders & leading for followers’
Our extra special guest teacher Helen La Vikinga will be giving her first workshop on 'following for leaders & leading for followers’. This class, suitable for those at all levels, will teach us how to lead and how to follow, focusing on the tools and attitude required in changing the roles.
6.30pm to 7.30pm - Workshop 2 'Adornments & decorations'
Our second work shop will focus on adornments & decorations. This class, again suitable for all levels, will focus on simple additions to your dance to make you tango more fun and elegant at the same time.
7:30pm to 11pm - Milonga with live music from Guillermo Rozenthuler!
Join the QTL team and Helen for an evening of music and dancing with live music supplied by guitarist and vocalist, Guillermo Rozenthuler, one of London's top tango musicians. Additionally a range of tango tunes, from the greats of the golden age to modern classics plus a few QTL favourites will be supplied by QTL's own DJ, Tom Cottle. The bar will be open with prosecco and cocktails to make this a truly celebratory night!
There won’t be another tango night like it in London!
