In tango, the music is not a background “timekeeper”. The music is the “third member” of any dance couple you are in. It is not a constant, but changes in mood, colour, pulse and character. As it changes, you change how you dance – most especially if you are a leader, but followers have to listen, too! If both people are listening, they will make a dance together. It isn’t magic. Anyone can do it, but when they do, the effect on the dancers amnd the dance is magical.
