About The Event
A unique opportunity to DANCE yourself through history, in period dress ( fully optional), if you want to impress…
As its contribution to LGBT History Month 2019, QTL are hosting a unique Historical Queer Tango Milonga, dancing to tracks from more than 100 years of Tango, music our LGBTQ+ dancing forebears may well have danced to, knowledgeably chosen for us by QTL DJ, Tom Cottle. The music will be punctuated by very short, illustrated reminders of who these dancers were and what they may have looked like, from queer tango historian, Dr Ray Batchelor.
Nothing else like it - anywhere.
So dress up if you want to, choosing a gender you like (and don’t if you don’t) and dance with us to celebrate.
Queer tango does have a history - it is just not well enough known. YET. Find out more about queer tango here.
